Lapland U.K., an enchanting Christmas experience, is expected to generate a staggering $30 million in revenue this year. Launched in 2007 by Alison and Mike Battle, the business aims to provide families with a unique and magical holiday adventure.
At Lapland U.K., guests are immersed in a world created by Hollywood set designers, talented actors, and detailed Christmas characters. The four-hour visit to “Lapland” includes exciting activities such as ice skating, toy making, and even a personal encounter with Father Christmas himself.
Over the years, Lapland U.K. has welcomed more than 1 million guests, including notable figures like Elton John and the Beckhams. Such esteemed visitors are a testament to the quality and allure of this exceptional experience. This year, tickets for the event sold out months in advance, with prices ranging from £59 to £149.
The idea for Lapland U.K. was born when Alison, a former teacher, was disappointed by the lackluster holiday experiences available for her own children. Determined to create something truly magical, Alison and Mike dedicated their lives to sourcing props from antique markets and publishing elaborate storybooks. Mike, a former stock trader, also contributed his creativity and business skills to the venture.
However, the couple faced challenges in convincing both others and themselves that their vision was worthwhile. Despite these obstacles, their passion never wavered. In fact, they funded Lapland U.K. by refinancing their home and borrowing money from friends and family, without seeking external investors. As a result, the business remains 100% family-owned.
Looking ahead, the Battles plan to expand Lapland U.K. internationally, further spreading the enchantment to families around the world. Their purpose is to “honor childhood together” by creating extraordinary memories and experiences that will last a lifetime.
With their unwavering dedication and unique approach, Lapland U.K. has captured the hearts of families everywhere, elevating the holiday season to new heights.
