Lenovo Unveils New Gaming Handheld – The Legion Go
Lenovo, the global technology giant, has reportedly developed an exciting new gaming handheld called the Legion Go. This device is based on the latest operating system, Windows 11, aiming to provide an immersive gaming experience for enthusiasts on the go.
The Legion Go is said to feature an impressive 8-inch display, perfect for gaming on the move. Equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7040U APU, this gaming handheld ensures smooth performance and fast gameplay. Lenovo has pushed the boundaries of handheld gaming, offering a high-quality experience with powerful specifications.
This new handheld gaming device comes nearly two years after the rumours of the cancelled Legion Play emerged. Lenovo had originally planned to unveil the Legion Play, an Android and Snapdragon 720G-based gaming handheld, at the prestigious Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023. However, the company shifted its focus towards the Legion Go, incorporating AMD technology to enhance the gaming experience.
The Legion Play prototype units were tested and reviewed by well-known tech reviewers such as ETA Prime and Taki Udon. These prototypes showcased the potential of the Legion Play, generating anticipation and excitement among gaming enthusiasts. Unfortunately, plans for the Legion Play were later scrapped in favor of the Legion Go.
Lenovo’s decision to partner with AMD for the Legion Go is seen as a strategic move. The AMD Phoenix APUs, sold as Ryzen 7040U APUs, are also found in the ASUS ROG Ally. It remains to be seen whether other manufacturers will adopt AMD’s Ryzen Z1 series or if it will remain exclusive to ASUS.
Gaming enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the release of the Lenovo Legion Go. With its advanced features, including the Windows 11 operating system and powerful AMD Ryzen 7040U APU, this gaming handheld promises to deliver an immersive gaming experience like never before. Stay tuned for more updates on the Legion Go and other exciting developments in the gaming industry.
