Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is making his final pre-draft visit tonight as he heads to Washington to meet with the Commanders. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, McCarthy is scheduled to meet with the Commanders on Tuesday and Wednesday.
McCarthy has been a busy prospect leading up to the draft, having already visited the Commanders, Patriots, and Giants. He has also had private workouts for the Vikings, Broncos, and Giants. The Commanders hold the second overall pick in the draft, while the Patriots have the third overall pick.
It is widely expected that USC quarterback Caleb Williams will be the No. 1 overall pick by the Bears. However, McCarthy’s impressive career with the Wolverines has put him in a strong position heading into the draft. He threw for 6,226 yards with 49 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions during his time at Michigan, helping lead the team to a national championship last season.
As McCarthy makes his final visits before the draft, all eyes will be on where he ultimately lands and what impact he will have at the next level. Stay tuned for more updates as the NFL draft approaches.
