Dusty May Leaves FAU, Takes Over as Head Coach of Michigan Wolverines
In a surprising turn of events, Dusty May has made the decision to leave his position as head coach of the Florida Atlantic Owls to take over as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines.
After the firing of Juwan Howard, May agreed to step in and lead a Michigan team that struggled this season, finishing with only eight wins and a program record 24 losses.
May, on the other hand, had a successful season at FAU, leading the Owls to a surprise Final Four appearance with a 25-9 record. Unfortunately, their March Madness run came to an end after a close game against Northwestern.
During his six-year tenure at FAU, May amassed an impressive record of 126-69. Before his time with the Owls, May worked as an assistant at various universities before finally earning a head coaching position.
Michigan fans are hopeful that May will bring a fresh perspective and much-needed change to the struggling program. With his track record of success at FAU, there is optimism that May can help turn things around for the Wolverines.
As for FAU, the search for a new head coach is now underway. May leaves behind a legacy of success and will undoubtedly be missed by both the players and fans of the Owls.
