The research, funded by a range of entities including the Office of Naval Research and the European Innovation Council, promises to revolutionize the way we understand and harness the power of skin microbes. Led by the esteemed C.D. Johnston from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, the team utilized the JMC2 and JMC3 MC producer strains as key components in their experimental procedures. They were generously provided by Johnston, who has long been recognized as a leading authority in the field.
