Beloved actor Ryan O’Neal laid to rest next to Farrah Fawcett in emotional funeral
Los Angeles bid farewell to Hollywood star Ryan O’Neal as he was laid to rest alongside his former partner, the iconic Farrah Fawcett, at Westwood Memorial Park Cemetery. The intimate ceremony, attended by approximately 25 people, included O’Neal’s ex-wife Leigh Taylor-Young, their son Patrick O’Neal, and Fawcett’s best friend, Alana Stewart.
The relationship between Fawcett and O’Neal was one of ups and downs, beginning in 1979 when they were introduced by Fawcett’s then-husband, Lee Majors. However, the couple faced numerous challenges and eventually split in 1997. It was not until 2001, when O’Neal was diagnosed with leukemia, that they reunited and rekindled their love.
Tragically, Fawcett lost her battle with cancer in 2009, leaving O’Neal devastated. In a touching gesture, O’Neal proposed to Fawcett while she was in the hospital, but their plans for marriage were thwarted by her declining health.
O’Neal, who became famous for his roles in films such as “Love Story” and “Paper Moon,” passed away at the age of 82 due to congestive heart failure. Despite his own health struggles, O’Neal left behind four children – Tatum, Griffin, Patrick, and Redmond O’Neal – as well as five grandchildren.
The couple’s love story, filled with both joy and heartache, captivated the public’s attention over the years. Their bond was a true testament to the power of love and resilience. As O’Neal takes his final resting place next to the woman he adored, their legacy lives on in the hearts of their loved ones and fans around the world.
