Nikon Corporation Launches Z f Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera for Creative Imaging
Nikon Corporation has recently unveiled its latest addition to the mirrorless camera lineup, the Z f. Designed to cater to the needs of creators and expand possibilities for imaging expression, this camera offers a host of exciting features.
Inspired by the classic FM2 film camera, Nikon has incorporated a heritage design into the Z f. The camera body is made of a lightweight yet durable magnesium-alloy, providing a high-quality feel. The brass dials further enhance the aesthetics of the camera. To add a touch of personalization, users can choose from six different color options for the artificial leather grip.
One of the notable features of the Z f is its ability to switch to black-and-white photo mode, allowing users to explore monochrome imagery. Additionally, the camera boasts unique tone characteristics in monochrome picture controls, offering photographers a wide range of creative possibilities.
Video enthusiasts will be delighted with the Z f’s video recording capabilities. It supports 10-bit H.265 recording and 4K UHD video using 6K oversampling, ensuring high-quality footage. Moreover, the Z f is the first Nikon camera to support video recording in shutter-priority auto mode, granting users greater control over their videos.
In terms of performance, the Z f impresses with its subject detection capabilities, which are on par with Nikon’s flagship model, the Z 8. This ensures improved focusing, even in low-light situations. To reduce blur, the camera features 5-axis in-camera vibration reduction (VR) and focus-point VR, providing stability and sharpness to images.
The Z f offers other advanced features as well. It has increased focus point coverage, allowing photographers to capture their subjects with precision. For added convenience, the camera supports vertical-orientation image playback, making it easier to review and navigate through images. Additionally, it supports the HEIF format, ensuring compatibility with the latest industry standards.
Durability is a key feature of the Z f, as it is both dust- and drip-resistant, allowing photographers to shoot in various weather conditions without worry. The camera is equipped with dual memory card slots, providing ample storage and backup options.
Finally, the Z f supports pixel-shift shooting and the merging of NEF (RAW) images using NX Studio Ver.1.5.0, offering photographers more flexibility in post-processing.
With its array of features and its commitment to pushing the boundaries of imaging expression, the Nikon Z f is set to become a favorite among creative individuals. Whether it is professional photographers or amateur enthusiasts, this mirrorless camera opens up new possibilities for capturing stunning visuals.
