After a 12-year journey, 7 Days to Die is finally officially leaving early access. The open-world zombie game, first released in 2013, has been a labor of love for developer The Fun Pimps. In an exciting announcement, the developer revealed a new update featuring new gore, challenges, improved controller support, and most importantly, moving the game out of early access.
Console players will need to purchase the new version of the game, as the old version will not be upgraded due to technical differences in hardware. However, TFP is currently working with Sony and Microsoft to provide a discount for digital legacy owners on the new console edition.
For PC early access players, the full release will be available at no additional cost. However, existing saves will not be compatible with the new changes. The release date for the full 1.0 console version has not been provided yet, but TFP is aiming for a launch a few weeks after the PC 1.0 Stable release in the next few months.
In anticipation of the change, PC players can pick up the game for 76% off between April 22nd and 29th to avoid a price rise after early access. TFP expressed their gratitude to fans for their continued support and promised to keep adding content to the game.
7 Days to Die has been a passion project for the team, and it will continue to be a focus for future releases and updates. Fans can expect even more exciting improvements and additions in the years to come.
