US returns archeological pieces to Mexico

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) sent back to Mexico two archeological pieces to the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).

The two pieces were illegally trafficked to the US and belonged to an archeologic site and are considered as National Cultural Heritage.

The pieces have a Teotihuacan style in their design related to the Central area of Mexico from the Mesoamerican period (200-700 A.D.).

The American embassy in Mexico said that the rescue of the pieces shows the continuing effort and collaboration between Mexico and US to recover cultural assets.
