New Mazatlán Contact Directory for Foreign Residents

Filed under Local News, Quick News 6 comments

A new telephone directory of foreign residents is being prepared by Democrats Aboard as a fundraiser. Personal listings are free, but your info is needed by March 1, 2012. The directory is expected to be published in October. If you wish to be listed, send your name, spouse’s name, phone numbers and (optional) email to: mazphones@gmail.com.

Sounds nice but for security purposes I dont think it is a good idea. Imagine that list in the hands of the bad guy.

Thanks for your feedback. We at Democrats Abroad Mazatlan take security seriously and therefore have chosen not to include physical address’s in the directory

You can be paranoid about bad guys all of the time..what a life you would lead! You could refuse to go outside your home because there may be a bad guy around the corner ready to assault you. Get real!

Phone books are published worldwide. If you have Telmex you will be in a phone book!

OPCM has a point. These bad guys don’t care about addresses. All they need is a phone number and a phone to conduct “business”. The Telmex directory is used all the time for extortion attempts. Very frightening, so I’d recommend an unlisted number because these incidents are increasing.

Please: Occupy Sense. I’m in legal defense back in Calif. I live near the Oakland / Richmond area. My roots are in East L.A.And I grew up in Salinas. The “bad guys” hit those area all the time! They don’t use phone book to find victims. And no USA “travel alerts” warn tourists away. Here, kids walk the streets safely, and I can walk the Malecon or take the bus late at night w/o fear. Democrat phone book only enters your info if you choose.( Unlike AT&T there’s no charge to remain unlisted). Ask any MTA Volunteer. YO CREO EN MAZATLAN.
